You’re cordially invited to a pool party. It’s in hell. Leave your shame at the shallow end.
Sunday School for Sinners is back—and this time, we’re raising hell poolside. From sultry nuns in swimwear to priest-collared party dads, we’re splashing into a sinful summer spectacular that blends burlesque, kink, fire, aerials, and holy hot mess energy. Holy pool water and White Claw can’t wash away this kind of sin. This isn’t a sermon—it’s a wet, wild, glitter-soaked revival.

Something incredible is happening at Red Light Cafe on August 28th. The Book of Bourbon follows a mismatched pair of Mormons (who will be drinking, which – famously – Mormons do not do) sent on a mission to a place that’s about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get. Is this Acting Under the Influence’s funniest show ever? Maybe! MAN UP and come join us or you’ll be cursed to have a SPOOKY MORMON HELL DREAM!
Content warning: this performance contains strong and frequent profanity, including blasphemous language, as well as sexual content and racial stereotypes.
Acting Under the Influence combines theatre and drinking (two of our most favorite activities) in a fun and safe environment for performers and audience members alike. The actors are encouraged to drink by tips from the audience. AUI productions have included cabarets, full-length plays, and many other boozy theatrical shenanigans.

Join us for the Atlanta Songwriters Club Meet Up at Red Light Café every second Monday of the month! $5 at the door, starts at 8pm, and you can sign up to play a song if you'd like when you get here.
The Atlanta Songwriters Club is a bit like an open mic with a few key differences. This group exists for songwriter's who would like to interact with other songwriters. It is similar to an open mic, but with the added benefit of discussion. You can come and play a song or just watch and listen. If you'd like to play, you will tell us all if you are interested in receiving feedback on the song or not. If you are interested then after you play we will all discuss what we like about the song, and any suggestions we might have as a group. If you'd rather not have any feedback on the song then you will simply play the song for us. There's no cash prize, competition, or politics. Just songwriting discussions and hopefully new friendships.
If you're a songwriter looking to connect with other songwriters and get some dialogue happening, this group is for you! A club like this allows us to get to know other local songwriters, and learn from one another.

On September 13th, the Red Light Café presents the Hounds of Love. Atlanta’s best (and only) Kate Bush tribute. The Hounds began when Audrey Gamez, their talented and evocative vocalist, reached out to no one in particular, asking “who is gonna write that Kate Bush musical and ask me to star in it?” To which keyboardist Allen Welty-Green (from The Band Who Fell to Earth) replied “be careful what you wish for!” Within short order, they had recruited a team of simpatico musicians, including drummer Bill Sommer and bassist/guitarist Rob Dwyer (also from The Band Who Fell to Earth), along with the inimitable Marva Rodriquez (from Heartizens) on piano and additional vocals. They began to dive deep into Kate’s repertoire and their set spans her entire career, from her early innocent ballads to her sophisticated art-rock opuses. Translating Kate’s etherial and sophisticated music into a live setting has been their primary mission. The Hounds make it happen with elegance and theatricality.
For this show, they will be joined by Private Lives, a project formed by Allen Welty-Green (synthesizers) and Antön Samford (vocals and guitar), who along with drummer Lorace Deen, pay tribute to the mighty Ultravox. They focus primarily on the elegant Midge Ure/Vienna era, but occasionally harken back to the grittier John Foxx iteration.
