Parks will explore how musicians augment their natural talents with technology, harnessing its powers to fuel their own vision. According to Parks, “The relationship between music and technology is always evolving, but true music cannot exist without a soul.” From this philosophical starting point, Parks will engage with a live audience to seek out where an equilibrium between human expression and machine meticulousness lie.
Deantoni Parks, one of the top drummers working today, displays through his work a sleek and intuitive balance between raw rhythmic physicality and machine-like precision. arks tours internationally, and his talent have led him to collaborations with John Cale, Sade, the Mars Volta and Flying Lotus as well as teaching at the Berklee College of Music. Parks is one of 2018's artists-in-residence with the Transient Project Residency at AIR Serenbe.
