Following Ryan Taylor's 2015 release, "Grand Experiment", that saw the folk-rock/newgrass singer-songwriter play all instrumentation on the album, a change was due. After two years of playing stripped down, solo shows in support of the album and getting to the core of his own songs, he began to hear a bigger sound in his head.
While reflecting on his past musical adventures with Little Green Chairs, his Athens, GA-based jamband from the early 2000's, Taylor began to craft richer and more soulful versions of his songs. He recruited Vic Stafford (Donna the Buffalo, Blueground Undergrass, Toubab Krewe) on drums and Anthony House (Marcus King Band) on bass to be the foundation of a new band sound that continues to gain momentum and positive reviews with each new show. Drawing comparisons to Railroad Earth and Sam Bush Band, Ryan Taylor Band delivers high-energy performance with great musicianship, multilayered harmonies and well-crafted songs.
