As we usher in the fall and the weather turns crisp, we're taking our Speakeasy Electro Swing Atlanta to a hot spot — The Cabaret! We'll be joined by the touring gypsy cabaret duo, Frenchy and the Punk! We'll also be joined by resident DJ Doctor Q for our usual electro swing beats, and dancing the gogo galore will be none other than returning favorites Lucy Purr and Candi Lecoeur!
Doors will open at 9pm this time around, with Frenchy and the Punk going on at 10pm, followed by Doctor Q bringing the swing 'til late. And dress to impress for the Speakeasy Costume Contest! Prizes include bar cash and souvenir shot glasses to the winner and runner up in their best steampunk, cabaret, or speakeasy flair costume. Contest to happen after Frenchy and the Punk's set.

Imagine Django Reinhardt, The White Stripes, Johnny Ramone, Siouxsie Sioux and Edith Piaf jamming together at an event hosted by Deepak Chopra and Toulouse Lautrec. This is what it might sound like. A sultry French-born singer, percussionist and a fiery punk rock guitarist from the golden days of the hardcore scene blended their diverse talents to form Frenchy and the Punk in 2005. The unlikely pairing has since released 6 full-length CDs, produced a live concert DVD and have performed all across the U.S. and in Europe. In May 2012, Yahoo Music called them one of the top 25 duos in the US. Their show is a carnival of two that will take you from Paris to CBGBs and back again. A rollicking flapper folk punk cabaret with cleverly crafted songs, Taiko meets Rio de Janeiro pounding drum instrumentals and true DIY attitude.
Blending the sounds of jazz, big band, and electronica, Speakeasy Electro Swing Atlanta melds the classics with the contemporary in a way that's sure to make your feet move. So you folks best bring your dance shoes and dress to impress. Swing Dancers, Hoopers, Flow Arts (Glow only), Cirque, and Steampunks welcome!
