It is easy to talk about a band being born, but Hunger Valley String Band was hatched from a very big egg. It’s a fact.
Four big huevos scrambled and fried up with a side of mama’s biscuits and red gravy on a Sunday morning after staying out too late howling the night before. Someone asked, “Well, if Hunger Valley String Band was hatched, which came first, the music or the band?” The only answer was a question, “You ain’t too smart are you?” It was the music. We just marked the path one tree at a time so you could make it to the valley and eat it up.
