Katharine Cole is an award-winning singer-songwriter with deep roots in country, blues and rock. Raised in Texas then uprooted to California, she started out living on the streets of Hollywood in the heydays of punk and grunge rock. She made her way to San Francisco where her twanging style and down-home personality found her on a major label playing the best rock stages in town and indeed, the country. She has released nine albums over her career including The Truth (MCA/Marquee) and later enjoyed international success with two country releases Greatest Hits! and Live at The Ryman under the moniker Kitty Rose.
Katharine has toured the US and Europe in support of major label artists, appeared on world-class stages including the Great American Music Hall and Slims in San Francisco, the Roxy and Whiskey in Los Angeles, the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and The Knitting Factory & CBGBs in New York, SXSW in Austin, and more. She opened for Hootie & The Blowfish, Aaron Tippen, Cake, Train, Third Eye Blind, Elliott Smith, Victoria Williams, Southern Culture on the Skids, Vienna Teng, Matt Nathanson, Wanda Jackson, Red Molly, Amanda Marshall, and Kris Kristofferson, to name a few.
Katharine received the OutMusic Award for best female artist of 2005, was inducted into the Traditional Music Hall of Fame in 2007, and has received official recognition from the California Senate and Assembly for her contributions to the arts on the West Coast. Following her muse to Atlanta, Georgia, she continues to share her talent, songs and stories with new audiences and fans.
