Acoustic Station with friends is a duo fronted by Melanie and Paul Shaw. We do singer songwriter music and will be joined by Naomi Lavender (vocals), Jay Wiggins (guitar), Mark Williams (violin), and Frank Hamilton of folk music fame on vocals and banjo. Then four member group Dirty Shame will round out the evening with classic cover songs done acoustically. We expect each group to play for 45 min with a brief break between.
Kennedy Shaw is a Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter originally from southern New Jersey. She began her music career early, releasing her first record at the age of 16. Over the years, she has immersed herself in various aspects of the music industry, gaining experience both on stage and behind the scenes. Shaw's musical style blends elements of alternative rock, indie, grunge, and folk. Her debut EP, Makeout Machine, released in 2016, showcases raw, emotionally charged love songs. In 2018, she released the full-length album Girl Almighty, described as "shameless, powerful, and rebellious." Her 2020 EP, Mother of the Grave, reflects on her youth, with all proceeds from the single "Heaven" donated to the NAACP. Beyond her solo work, Shaw has performed at various venues, including a Key Studio Session at WXPN in 2024. She is also active on social media under the handle @makeoutgrrl, where she shares updates on her music and performances. For this special concert, she will be joined by her songwriter, drummer, and composer uncle- Paul Shaw, and his acoustic ensemble with friends.

Therapy is expensive. So instead, we’re traumatizing the audience!
Have you ever emotionally dissociated during an audition? Tried to belt Wicked at 10am with bronchitis? Played a 65-year-old chain-smoking grandmother at age 15? Same.
This cabaret is a spiral in real time. A live, oversharing support group for performers unpacking their most cursed theatrical decisions, unqualified casting calls, and musical trauma responses - with songs to match!
Atlanta’s finest (and most emotionally unstable) will be publicly processing their drama for your entertainment. Think of it as group therapy…if your therapist was under qualified, unpaid, and holding a headshot and resume.
Judgment welcome. Applause mandatory.

We’re spelling. We’re singing. We’re sweating tequila. It’s where “i before e” means “I’m before everyone else at the bar.” Ready to sing your heart out and possibly forget how to spell ‘chrysanthemum’? Yup, Same.
Acting Under the Influence combines theatre and drinking (two of our most favorite activities) in a fun and safe environment for performers and audience members alike. The actors are encouraged to drink by tips from the audience. AUI productions have included cabarets, full-length plays, and many other boozy theatrical shenanigans.
