Trout Steak Revival w/ City Mouse

Whether playing in sweat-soaked clubs or at beautiful mountain festivals, Colorado's Trout Steak Revival has shown a tenacity for quick-picking and all the right polish without sacrificing the raw feeling of well-executed bluegrass. Keeping an eye on traditions of the past but boldly forging into new territory, the five-piece takes us back to memories of whiskey, laughter, and the misty high country where the band was born.

Atlanta's own City Mouse open the show at 8pm.

Trout Steak Revival has earned a place in the mountain states bluegrass scene, performing to sold-out audiences, winning the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, placing in the 2012 Rockygrass Band Competition, and even winning an Emmy Award for a soundtrack with Rocky Mountain PBS.

From beginnings as an informal jamming unit during treks through the peaks of the Front Range, Trout Steak Revival has evolved into one of Colorado’s most tightly knit, hard-driving bluegrass bands. Their brand of heartfelt songwriting blends dynamic musicianship with intricately woven harmonies, all tied together with the unmistakable sound of their years of friendship.

City Mouse is the collective spirit of Atlanta-based songwriters, Brian Revels and Michael Hudgins. Born in the latter part of 2012 amongst the trash heaps and decay-filled dumpsters of the Big Peach's outskirts, City Mouse is a bastard-spawn drinking buddies and of late-nights harmonizing over an out of tune banjo.

One lucky day, these rat bastards stumbled into the Tin Roof Cantina to find Jenna Mobley sawin' a fiddle in half with Atlanta-folk badasses, Sailing to Denver. And after a few songs and few beers they worked up the courage to get a name and number (for business reasons, of course).

Generally accompanied by a banjo (plus Brian's overzealous, tempo-tempting footstomps), a guitar, and a double-bass, played by the talented Miss Mobley, the Mouse's lyrics are the words that keep these broke, hopeless romantics spending all their tip money on microphones and strings.

That is only to say that they mean them. And hope you can relate in this collective human experience. This rat race.

...Mouse race.

Thank you for your interest.
