The Amigos' debut album, Diner in the Sky, featuring American music legend David Amram, has received significant airplay in the US and Europe, and was praised by the Wall Street Journal. The Amigos have made education central to their musical goals. In 2014, they toured Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam through the U.S State Department's American Music Abroad program, hosting over 30 concerts and workshops featuring international touring artists. As part of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Jazz for Young People program, The Amigos give over 50 performances in NYC schools each year, focusing on democracy, freedom and improvisation, and cultural heritage. In the last year they have led school performances in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Washington D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
