Enjoy a supper serving of Sunday funk with the Swamp Funk Quartet! Michael Bradley and Dave Daniels round out the musical flavorings for the evening.
Swamp Funk Quartet is an Atlanta-based group of experienced musicians whose material is drawn from a variety of sources and styles – but, the common element is “funkiness”. Indeed, SFQ inhabits the space where funk, soul, blues, and reggae overlap. Their sound has been compared to a “gumbo” of New Orleans greats The Meters, the funk-jazz stylings of John Scofield, and the guitar antics of Jeff Beck. Led by “South African-American” guitarist and vocalist Ted Baumann, SFQ also comprises Todd Ague on keys, Jeff Donnenwerth on drums, and Ed Bland on bass. All are seasoned musicians who collectively have logged tens of thousands of professional performances.
Michael Bradley is a singer/songwriter based in Georgia, USA. Former head of Myssouri, also known as Antic Clay and Mick Hoss, Michael has a sound akin to Waylon Jennings, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, Jim Morrison, and Gordon Lightfoot.
Atlanta-based singer / songwriter Dave Daniels has evolved from heart-on-the-sleeve acoustic singer/songwriter to electric rock and soul guitarist, singer and frontman with his new band, The PTA (Part Time Association). Daniels uses his knack for illuminating lyric writing and ear for blending wild mixes of musical genres (rock, pop, blues, folk, jazz, country, and world music) to bring the band and audience experience together with a rye sense of humor and warm personality in between songs.
