Hailing from Atlanta, Memphis, and the Finger Lakes region of New York, the musician’s diverse backgrounds join to form a unique sound much different from your typical funky-jam band. They blend Latin rhythms, high-energy improvisations, melodic vocals, and top it off with a healthy dose of New Orleans-style funk. Sugarfoot members previously played in the bands Wombat, Rhythm Junction, Thumb, Jango Monkey, and Salpicon and have individually shared the stage with many well known musicians / bands throughout the southeast. They have a broad range of influences that include the Meters, Jimmy Smith, Fela Kuti, The Grateful Dead, and Santana. The band’s high-energy and love of improvisation ensure that every Sugarfoot show is a Jam, Funk, Booty Shakin’ Get Down!
