Newcomer Savannah Smith, originally from Tupelo, brings North Mississippi soul to whatever stage she graces. Her original songs and their heartfelt melodies evoke emotions usually associated with more seasoned writers. Savannah is poised and ready to be the next significant female singer/songwriter to come from the talent rich region of Western North Carolina!
Savannah is a soulful southern guitarist/singer who has been making waves in the americana scene since her start in 2012. Since then she has played alongside Willy Watson (Old Crow Medicine Show), was a finalist in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest, and recorded a full length record at prestigious Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville. Savannah also had the pleasure of opening for outlaw countries Whitey Morgan at the Grey Eagle this past fall.
Currently working on a record at the prestigious Echo Mountain Studios, Savannah has had the honor of recording with members of Steep Canyon Rangers, Town Mountain, and Shannon Whitworth Band. After attracting the attention of many audiences in early 2014, Savannah was asked to open for Outlaw Country's, Whitey Morgan, at the Grey Eagle Music Hall, as well as invitations to perform at regional festivals including LAAFF, MusicFest N' Sugar Grove, and Asheville's Annual BrewGrass Festival to name a few. 2015 invitations include a return to MusicFest N' Sugar Grove.
