Based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Rye Baby is a high energy folk/americana duo that's been hard at work traveling and playing their brand of back-to-the-basics folk/roots/blues/country music all over the southeast since early 2014. Consciously taking elements from the aforementioned styles and creating something distinctly their own as-opposed-to rehashing a particular sound. This sonic backdrop lends itself beautifully to Jennifer's unique perspective on storytelling.

Jennifer Brumlow and Callie Harmon met at a band competition in mid 2012 and were brought together by their love of old country and roots music. By early 2013 their friendship had blossomed into a romantic relationship. Their previous musical endeavors had also dissolved. So, the two began working on material together, playing locally, and honing their craft before settling on their name and beginning work on their first recordings.

Their debut E.P., Cowboy Chords, was written, produced, and recorded (on an iPad) by the band throughout 2014 and was made available online as each song was completed. A final professionally mastered version is set to be released by early 2015.

Tara Mills has been writing and singing most of her life. As a child she wrote songs on the piano, but in the winter of 2000 she picked up her first guitar and began to relay the beautiful melodies in her head to audible music on this instrument. Tara Mills was one of the original members of the Charlottesville based band Yankee Dixie, in which Tara’s vocals, acoustic rhythm and hauntingly beautiful lyrics helped to capture the essence of the band.

Tara currently plays in her own project from Charlottesville, VA, the Tara Mills Band. This acoustic trio is inspired by traditional roots and bluegrass music with hints of new and refreshing original folk sounds. Tara describes her music as original blue ridge americana.

Tara Mills plays regionally at venues, wineries, breweries, and outdoor music festivals. Recent festivals include DelFest, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, Rooster Walk, Red Wing Roots Music Festival, The Festy Experience, Campout East, Camp Barefoot, and more.
