PAINT PARTY 2: Paint Harder.

  • Red Light Cafe 553-1 Amsterdam Avenue Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30306 United States (map)

The first Paint Party went so well we're having another one to complete the room! YOU ARE ALL INVITED, AND THE BAR WILL BE OPEN FOR ... INSPIRATION!!!

For the first Paint Party at the end of July, we taped off 4' x 4' grid spaces (of, well, 4 by 4 for 16 spaces) for folks to claim and make their own. That worked SO WELL that we're doing the exact same strategy again for the remainder of the room!

Here's the breakdown:

  • RLC will purchase more paint trays, paint foam roller thingies, a few paint brush sets, BLACK paint, WHITE paint, RLC RED paint (gotta stay on brand) for folks to use.

  • IF YOU'D LIKE TO USE MORE THAN THE RED LIGHT CAFE BRAND COLORS, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PAINT!

  • It also wouldn't hurt to BRING YOUR OWN BRUSHES!!! We’ll have a few, but not enough for everyone.

  • We will also have a ton of paint tape (to create grids), and a few gallons of sealant (for once we're done)

EVENING SCHEDULE

6 PM :: Use paint tape to create grids. Thanks to Mr. V for helping me plan this out the first time around!

6:30 PM – 10 PM-ish :: THE ACTUAL FLOOR PAINTING PART OF THE PAINT PARTY. Don't forget to sign / initial your creations!

10 PM :: I roll out the shop fans to air dry it all. Let’s take some photos of what we’ve all done and socialize!

11 PM (or probably midnight) :: SEALANT PARTY (probably just me with a roller, which is fine). Gotta get at least one coat of sealant on there to make it last.
