RLC 'Round Midnight Monday returns with an evening of jazz featuring Plectophilia, Tyrone Jackson, and the Louis Heriveaux Trio with special guests!
Plectophilia is an acoustic quartet blending the sounds of bluegrass, jazz, country and rock into a progressive Americana sound. Born out of a love for picking bluegrass and crossing genres, Plectophilia was formed. With Ian Newberry on guitar, Jared Womack on dobro, Galen Green on mandolin, and Drew Lloyd on bass, the four friends look to spread their mutual love for the progressive bluegrass / Americana sound to the friendly people of Atlanta, Georgia.
2nd set features the original music of Tyrone Jackson. Tyrone performs an eclectic blend of classic and contemporary jazz to soothe the aural palate. The new jazz CD, Another Voyage, is Tyrone at his finest — creative composition, wonderful collaborations and technical mastery. Tyrone was born in the birth place of jazz, New Orleans, where he honed his skills learning traditional, latin, and fusion jazz. An accomplished composer as well, Tyrone utilizes a counterpoint of harmonic balance with melodic lyricism and rhythmic ostinato.
Louis Heriveaux closes out the evening with his trio, featuring a variety of special guests. Louis has made waves in the Jazz world and continues to make them every week on the Atlanta Jazz scene. His long standing gig at Houston’s Restaurant in Buckhead, allows him the opportunity to build a following and show that he can command the piano in a mellow tone, just as magnificently as he can swing it in grand venues such as Carnegie Hall. Louis can also be heard playing at Georgia’s Juke Joint in downtown Atlanta, during Sunday afternoon brunch. A typical week for Louis may include sharing his musical talents with David Potter and Friends, at ‘The Music of Miles,’ a fundraiser for WRFG 89.3, doing an exclusive interview for The City Café segment of All Things Considered, on NPR, or appearing at one of many music festivals across the nation.
