Kris Youmans Band headline a night of modern retrobillly, americana rock, western swing, and country swagger w/ Lauren St. Jane, and The Serenaders.
Kris Youmans was nominated and in finals in the 2013 GA MUSIC AWARDS in the Americana category. Kris and her Mighty Fine Band bring her songs from the Savannah marsh where they began and add a touch of western swing and American roots to their originals and covers. Backed by Warren "Barefoot Slim" Hall on steel guitar, and Dave Puett on guitar, with Justin Pursley on upright bass, Kris is presenting shows that prove true country music is alive and well. A new CD is in progress and scheduled for release in the Fall 2013.
From the southern roots of Georgia comes Lauren St. Jane with her own combination of Country swagger and Americana rock. This fiery, female-fronted band offers a raw sound complimented by strong, alluring vocals, ripping licks, and lyrics you'd expect from a true redhead. It was only a matter of time before she found herself in a studio, onstage while touring with bands such as Paul McDonald (American Idol) and The Grand Magnolias, playing packed-out shows in clubs and college towns. In both song and show, Lauren St. Jane is a collective drink that goes down smooth but leaves a beckoning burn for more - a classic country shot with a modern Americana aftertaste.
The Serenaders traveled a winding road down the paths of rockabilly, country, and pop to land where they are today: smack dab in the country rock genre. With little pomp, extensive enthusiasm, and songs that you'll be singing on the way home, The Serenaders have been plying their trade on the East Coast since 2007.
Featuring Danny Arana on hollow-body electric guitar and harmonies, Brian Weinberg on bass, Calvin Ellis on drums, and Barton Caplan on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, the band creates a unique sound that seeks to entertain while paying homage to the members' classic country heroes.
