A native of Shueyville, IA, Hailey Whitters moved to Nashville in 2007 and signed with Carnival Music in 2012. Since then she has shared stages with Josh Thompson, Randy Houser, Chris Knight, Granger Smith, Jo Dee Messina, & Casey Donahew Band. She has also garnered critical acclaim in Nashville's music community. The Nashville Scene proclaimed, "Hailey Whitters summons the space-country aesthetics that Daniel Lanois brought to Emmylou Harris’ Wrecking Ball and Willie Nelson’s Teatro in the late ’90s". In addition, Music Row critic Robert K. Oermann cited Hailey as an answer to country radio's lack of female artists with his praise: "I like her drawling delivery, the working gal lyric, the soulful backing guitar work, and the girlfriend chit-chat touches. Very, very promising. Keep your ears on this newcomer."
Stephanie Lambring hails from Seymour, Indiana – hometown of John Mellencamp, Miss America 2009, and Two Foot Fred. It’s where a “traffic jam” involves a tractor, where a prayer chain is the Christian way to gossip, and where the Lambrings have been settled since 1837. What better breeding ground for a country songstress?
However, you wouldn’t have found Lambring singing in front of her childhood church at age three. It was actually quite the opposite. Stephanie remembers recording herself singing into the answering machine when no one was home and promptly deleting the evidence. It took a two-week folk music course during her freshman year of high school for her to begin feeling remotely comfortable performing in front of living beings.
And get comfortable she did. Over the next three years, Lambring spent most weekends singing at local jamborees, talent competitions, and county fairs. Thanks to a prompt from her vocal coach and a well-timed breakup, she had begun writing songs just before she moved to Nashville in 2006. Her junior and senior years in college were dotted with writers rounds, as she often performed two or three times per week.
Thanks to a BBC Radio 2 message board and a bit of luck, Stephanie made her radio debut on legendary Bob Harris’ Saturday Night Programme in late 2008. This led to the recording of her 2009 full-length album, Lonely to Alone and a subsequent UK tour. In 2010, Bob Harris featured Lambring on his program with a 45-minute live session, including an interview and the performance of three songs. Stephanie has booked five UK tours to date, her latest trip being in the spring of 2013.
Lambring is currently signed to a publishing deal with Carnival Music. Carnival is owned and operated by producer Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler, Lee Ann Womack) and is responsible for generating 13 number ones in the past decade.
