On his third independent release, singer-songwriter Gareth Asher is coming to age as a writer, delivering a well-crafted and emotionally charged body of work. This new album is intensified with bold electric guitars, steady driving percussion, and balanced with lush string arrangements provided by members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Asher recorded the album in home town Atlanta, with close friend and brilliant artist Clay Cook (Marshall Tucker Band, Zac Brown Band) once again producing and mixing.
As a touring artist, Asher has shared the stage with Shawn Mullins, Glen Phillips(o/ Toad the Wet Sprocket), Emerson Hart, Angie Aparo, Corey Smith, Sister Hazel, Collective Soul, 3 Doors Down, Steve Cropper and many more.
Born in the small town Bowdon, GA, Gareth Asher was raised on a steady diet of old school funk, rock and soul. Asher attributes many of his musical sensibilities to monumental artists like Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, and groups like Chicago. As a writer, he respects the work of iconic performing songwriters like Jackson Browne, Otis Redding, and Don Henley and The Eagles.
"I feel like my shell is finally cracking, and the best songs are starting to emerge. All my inner most thoughts and emotions are breaking through to the surface, and insisting on a ray of light to shine down upon them", says Asher.
Niko Moon made his name as Nic Cowan, a native Texan transplanted to Atlanta and raised in a family of musicians. Like his father, Moon was a drummer when he first started playing. He switched to guitar in high school and started writing songs immediately. At first he bounced around genres and ideals, from fronting a punk band to leading a worship service at a church. But none of that satisfied him, so he started making the rounds to open mic nights and low-paying bar gigs, playing his own materials and and adhering to his father's advice, which was to be original at the expense of everything else.
Moon's music brings an infusion of soul, country and rock with a Southern-accented growl of a voice reminiscent of Otis Redding, John Lee Hooker and Chris Robinson (Black Crowes). His old soul successfully carries over to his debut album, "Hardheaded." Released via Grammy winner and mentor Zac Brown's Southern Ground Artists record label, the album sounds like a long-lost master tape collecting dust on a shelf at Stax Records in Memphis, hardwired with Moon's wry lyrics detailing the adventures of an old fashioned Southern boy taking on the Twitter age.
Chelsea Shag is a female vocalist and jazz guitar player who grew up in Canada and in Kennesaw, GA. She has been likened to Erikah Badu, Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga. Her genre is difficult to classify as it’s a fusion of many while she masters them all. Furthermore, Chelsea sings, and plays several instruments, including her main – the jazz guitar.
At a shapely 5’9”, with striking eyes, lovely locks, long legs and a notable derriere, this 21 year old up-and- comer is on her way to stardom. She rocks out with her outstanding band, or when soloing with her guitar – “George” and either way, she commands the stage in front of any audience. Most interestingly, established musicians and producers in the industry have already stated that she demonstrates “Grammy winning” potential.
