Escape Vehicle w/ The By Gods

Escape Vehicle have been brewing their batch of gritty, down-home, whiskey-drenched rock n’ roll in and around the southeastern United States since 2001 with a musical styling that incorporates the sounds of Traffic, J.J. Cale, Drivin’ n’ Cryin’, Widespread Panic, Grateful Dead, and The Allman Brothers with just a touch of outlaw country.

Nashville-based band The By Gods breed hook-laden, roll-your-windows-down rock & roll, respectfully reminiscent of the band’s early to mid-90’s alternative predecessors.

With a musical styling that incorporates the sounds of Traffic, J.J. Cale, Drivin’ n’ Cryin’, Widespread Panic, Grateful Dead, and The Allman Brothers with just a touch of outlaw country, the members of Escape Vehicle have been brewing their batch of gritty, down-home, whiskey-drenched rock n’ roll in and around the southeastern United States since 2001. Their solid reputation as a soulful, hard-working band with honest tunes and a fan base that’s always looking to hit the dance floor makes for a raucous live experience that leaves both newcomers and diehards screaming for more.

Having shared the stage with the likes of Col. Bruce Hampton, Jeff Mosier, Count M’butu, Railroad Earth, Bloodkin, Particle, Tea Leaf Green, Blueground Undergrass, Outformation / The Sam Holt Band, Tinsley Ellis, and Coy Bowles & the Fellowship (of the Zac Brown Band), the Vehicle prides itself on its professionalism and high caliber musicianship. This band thrives and survives in a live setting in collaboration with a willing audience. With one studio release under our belt and another album of originals slated for a spring 2014 release, we invite you to come out to our next show so that our music can speak for itself.

Nashville-based band The By Gods — originally George Pauley (vocals, guitar) and Tye Hammonds (drums) — breed hook-laden, roll-your-windows-down rock & roll, respectfully reminiscent of the band’s early to mid-90’s alternative predecessors.

With The By Gods, Hammonds and Pauley are focused on the difficult art of keeping it simple, and making the music they love. "We're really hedonistic when it comes to most things with The By Gods." Hammonds explains, "As long as we're into it, we think that other people will be too."

The band’s new album Get On Feelings is chock-full of rock & roll spark, assembled perfectly with intelligent and, most importantly, intoxicating melodies. With it, the band grows from a duo into a trio, thanks to the addition of bassist Natalie Pauley. Together, The By Gods hit their full-stride from the opening track and, downstrokes-be-damned, continue delivering their fuzz-guitar-laden youthful energy in crystal-clear high fidelity on “Miss It” and “On The Radio.” Pauley’s guitar work buzzes with maturity and exploration, from the appropriately off-kilter chorus chords of “My Way,” to the raucous bridge riff in “I Really Don’t Care.”
