Cory Welch began playing guitar at the age of 11 after moving to the Atlanta area with his parents. His dad taught him his first few chords and songs and he immediately fell in love with the guitar, spending every moment he could playing and practicing. By age 16, Cory was playing out live creating a world of melodies through writing music that told his story far better than he could a-melodically. It became much more than passion. Playing, writing and performing became his life.
Now, Cory seeks to give back the music that so greatly enriched his life. Welch enjoys making music for others as well as himself. It's much more than a calling. It's become part of who he is.
Originally from Media, PA, Kate Schettler began singing and playing piano at a young age. In college, Kate started out as a musical theater major at Syracuse University. During the summer following her sophomore year, while interning at a regional theatre, Kate experienced a powerful, transformative spiritual experience. Feeling a call to ministry work, Kate transferred her musical pursuits to the church arena while completing a degree in education & music. Music was Kate’s heartbeat while she worked as a church music director and worship leader in upstate NY. It was during this season of immersion in gospel music that Kate’s classical training was balanced by an ear for soul. Kate also learned to tap into the healing power of anointed music to transform the human spirit.
Moving to Nashville in 2006 was a new beginning for Kate. Stepping onto the gospel music scene, she began touring to churches and working with praise teams, choirs and congregations across the U.S. In 2009, Kate released her self-titled gospel EP. In 2010, Kate transitioned into playing venues throughout Nashville. Since then, she has performed at The Nashville Palace, Bongo Java, French Quarter Café, 12th & Porter, The Bluebird Café, Hotel Indigo, Sambuca, Belcourt Taps, & the Maxwell House Hotel along with private events.
Now, having come full circle, Kate has discovered her unique genre: blue-eyed soul. Based in Atlanta, Kate is raising funds to record her new songs and to capture her sound. “Sassy” is the title track of her upcoming EP to be released in early 2015!
