Brazil's own Fernanda Noronha leads the April showcase of Atlanta's first ever monthly cultural exchange event featuring Top International Artists based in Georgia, presented by America's Songbird of the South Myrna Clayton and CedarTree Worldwide Productions. Showcases will be every 4th Friday leading up to Atlanta's 2nd Annual International Jazz Day Jazz Jam, April 30, 2019, and on through year end at Red Light Café.
Fernanda Noronha is a Brazilian singer-songwriter whose first album “Fernanda Noronha” was released under the You Music Records label in April 2005, produced by Norman Connors and Duke Jones. The album featured 13 songs, all authored by Fernanda Noronha. The Executive Producer was Mr. Clarence O. Smith (Co-founder of essence Magazine). The album was recorded in both, Portuguese and English, but only released in Portuguese. The English track version of the album had the famous singer Jean Carn as record/ vocal producer.

The main track of this album titled “Um Dia Desses” (One of These Days) also shot on video had considerable radio airplay in Brazil. The video was directed by Pico Garcez and filmed in Bahia, Brazil, and played for many weeks on MTV Brazil.
Born in Salvador- BA, Brazil, Fernanda Noronha began singing at the age of 11 at religious events and church choir. By sixteen she decided to become a professional musician and played with many groups and bands in order to gain experience. She sang in pubs, restaurants, hotels, casinos and big events and music festivals in Brazil and Portugal. Her songs reveal many music influences like, Bossa Nova, Samba, Soul, Rhythm and Blues and Jazz.
Her passion for Jazz had a huge influence in her musical development. She cites in particular the music of Sarah Vaughan and Stevie Wonder, as well as Brazilians Joao Gilberto, Tania Maria, Rosa Passos and Leny Andrade, as her major influences.
Performing on stage accompanied by singer/guitarist Jair Luz helped her explore the huge Brazilian jazz repertoire and gave her the opportunity to play small local events at national festivals in Brazil and Portugal.
Fernanda relocated to the United States in the summer of 2011 and calls Atlanta, GA, “home”. Since moving to Atlanta, she has had the chance to sing in many music festivals and private events. Her debut album, released in 2014, is listed by the Brazilian International Press Awards, as one of the top five albums by a new artist.
Her new EP was released in December 2015 under Tribo Records in association with Ropeadope Records. The album features four songs of her authorship, and produced by Khari Simmons Cabral, Julius Speed and Darren Benjamin. The CD includes the participation/collaboration of talented musicians, Rafael Pereira, Julius Speed, Chocolat Costa and Khari Simmons Cabral as well. The touring in support of this album started in Georgia, Florida, New York, Russia and includes traveling to Europe scheduled for the first semester of 2017.
Winner of the 2017 and 2015 “Brazilian International Press Award” for “Best Show of the year in 2017” and “Best Female Singer Residing in the United States in 2015”, Fernanda is considered, by her producers and by the public, one of the best Brazilian vocalist and performer in Atlanta for the last five years in a row. Also, she received the “Notable Individual Award 2015" in the category "Artist", presented by Mundo Hispánico Newspaper, the largest Newspaper of the Latin Community in Georgia and she is the first Brazilian artist to receive this award. Recently she received the “Notable Individual in USA Award 2015" in the category "Artist", presented by Brazilian Times Journal and Brazilian Community Heritage Foundation, the largest Newspaper of the Brazilian Community in USA and the “Portuguese Brazilian Awards 2016” presented by Brazilian Portuguese Community and Radar Vip Magazine for “Notable Individual in the Brazilian Community in The United States”.
With more than 500 songs in her repertoire, the singer has been showcasing her own repertoire, Brazilian classics and international hits, with new arrangements and beautiful interpretations, in several cities in the United States as well as in Brazil and Russia.
Fernanda Noronha had a successful debut at the Atlanta Jazz Festival on May 2015. Also she had three sold out shows at the Velvet Note on May 2015, on October 2015 and on April 2016 and she had a successful tour in Europe on March 2016 in support of her last album.
On March 2017 Fernanda continued touring in Russia with her concert “Made in Brazil”, which was released in 2016. This show was recently nominated for the Brazilian International Press Awards USA 2017 (the most prestigious awards for arts and culture bestowed to Brazilians living in the USA) winner in the category “Best Brazilian show in USA”.
