This week's RLC Bluegrass Thursday headliner, Earth By Train, hails from the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia, home to the mountain country and bluegrass sound, where local bands, even the rock bands all have the same familiar sound. 22 Kings kicks things off at 8pm before EBT hits the stage — all after our weekly open bluegrass jam at 6pm.

Earth By Train was built in the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia, home to the mountain country and bluegrass sound, where local bands, even the rock bands all have the same familiar sound. Earth By Train, like a Phoenix from the ashes, became a clear signal in the cold white noise. Hailing from an area where coal mining and poverty are very real the band was determined to make a name for themselves in their community, and that’s exactly what they have done. Music is their impetus. The love for music, the creation of music, and the need for it to be heard is what fuels Earth By Train. The hard and focused work ethic, like the hands that stoke the fire, is what drives Earth By Train. Like a cool refreshing summer breeze, Earth By Train is coming to your town.
22 Kings walks a fine line between Folk, Americana, and Indie Rock. Their organic character communicates raw emotion balanced with angelic harmonies and uncanny, sometimes mysterious, resonance that will win over even the toughest critics. One cannot help but become overwhelmed with melody when observing a live performance of 22 Kings. As they continue to work with other artists and producers, 22 Kings’ sound and repertoire are reaching new depths and dimensions. There is no telling what is in store for Sam and Sandi as they continue to explore brave new musical frontiers.
